Shamanic Healing

Shamanic Healing

Healing shamanically offers us the wisdom and guidance to connect into a deeper relationship with ourselves and the natural world surrounding us.  Whether to turn our faces into the warmth of the sun, listening to birdsong, a gust of air on our cheek, smelling the first elderflowers or grass after the rain, experiencing the vibrant colours of a sun rise or walking barefoot on the earth. Our bodies are made from all the elements that are found in our natural world, earth, water, air and fire and the stars. So, when we work shamanically, we are connecting directly into and working with the consciousness of all that is present within the interconnected web of the universe.

Animism is the belief that everything has a consciousness, contains spirit and is alive. We can access this consciousness through an altered state by using a drumbeat, rattle and breath.

From a Shamanic viewpoint, there are three main causes of illness: Power loss, Soul loss and Intrusions (emotional energies from the past at are unhealed).

Symptoms of these may be, a feeling of disconnection from life or yourself, addictions, weak immunity, difficulty to move past a situation, wanting to revisit a place or person, hopelessness and depression, fatigue or indifference, PTSD or anxieties, doubting oneself or lack of confidence.

We can also carry unhealed Ancestral wounds that can be passed down through the generations, these can present themselves as habits, addictions and unhealthy patterns.

A session will begin with a discussion to hear what presenting issues you would like to work on. A few minutes of grounding, cleansing the energy field and relaxing with breath, to prepare. I will open sacred space, calling in the directions and guardians of each. l will then Journey into one of the three worlds, lower, middle and upper . I will use my drum and sometimes my rattle to accompany me. I will journey with my power animals and am always helped by benevolent spirit guides and animals to retrieve the healing that my client needs.

We will then discuss the journey to bring clarity and meaning, as a journey will be symbolic we unravel to find personal understanding, the meaning within it and the path of healing.
